Carnation Field Mayassah Alsader

For the fourth year in a row, WGSF, the British Arab organization, is holding the World Treasures and Fine Arts exhibition and auction in London on September 28. Artists from around the world are taking part in the event, and this year they aim to promote art by selling artworks at an auction run by Bonhams House and allocating part of their proceeds to charities.

On the level of Arab names, the engineer and the Iraqi Iraqi architect, Mayassa al-Sadr, participated for the second year in a row, through three paintings. The piece, which she chose to present to the charity auction, was titled “The Carnival Field” and proceeds to the World Wide Welfare Association for the rehabilitation of a children’s autism treatment center in the Iraqi city of Amara. It is one of a series of «City Turned» (Black Land, City of Peace and Carnation Field) that depicts the skillfully decorated Baghdad scheme that mixes history and imagination with art of painting and architecture on one floor. Artists from different generations and experiences, including Shukrallah, Nicolaus, Rebecca Fattouh, Laila Zein Dahir, Naseema Abulhassan and Lebanese Lebanese Talline Blaine, are also participating.
